The indicative alignment most IELTS partners publish is: bands 8.5–9.0 = C2, 7.0–8.0 = C1, 5.5–6.5 = B2, 4.5–5.0 = B1 and 4.0 = A2. Working days per year = work days per week × 52 − paid leave days. It is a first-order comparison, not a tax computation — income tax differs between offers only if your brackets differ, and the tool keeps both offers on the same gross basis so the ranking stays fair.

Because the headline number hides three costs: commuting money (Rs 250 a day is about Rs 75,000 a year on a six-day week), commuting time (an extra hour a day is 300+ hours a year — nearly eight work weeks), and unpaid extra hours that silently lower your effective hourly rate. Because application forms ask for total experience in years, months and days — and mental date arithmetic across multiple employers is where mistakes happen. Calendars are irregular (28–31-day months, leap years), stints overlap when you switched jobs mid-month, and one wrong carry turns "3 yr 7 mo" into "4 yr 1 mo". The calculator does calendar-correct arithmetic per stint, then combines them the way your form expects, with a printable breakdown you can keep beside the form.

Union merges overlapping stints so any double-counted period is counted once — the honest answer to "total experience" on government and private forms, and the default here. Sum adds every stint in full, which is what some employers mean when they separately ask for "experience in the relevant field" and "total employment period". If the two modes disagree, you have overlapping dates; pick the mode the form's own wording implies, and mention the overlap in the experience-letter section if it asks.

Each stint is measured calendar-correct: the difference borrows the real length of the previous month when the day-of-month underflows, so 15 Mar 2021 → 10 Jun 2023 is exactly 2 yr 2 mo 26 dy — never an approximation from average month lengths. When several stints are combined, the day remainders are carried at 30 days per month, the convention most application forms and HR departments use; the total-days figure stays exact for every stint. "Total months" for forms rounds the union span at the average month length of 30.44 days and is marked approximate.

Stint dates are entered in AD. Enter the CGPA you want and the credits you still have to take; the planner solves for the semester average you need across those remaining credits: needed = (target × total credits after − current grade points) ÷ remaining credits. If the required average is above 4.0 the target is mathematically out of reach and the planner says so honestly; if it is 0 or below, you have already secured it — the number tells you the slack you can afford.

Most private-sector offers carry 10–20% of negotiation room; niche or scarce skills can stretch further. Asking for 15–25% above a lowball first offer is normal and expected — asking for double rarely is, unless you hold a scarce certification or the role has been open for months.
