CGPA & Semester GPA Calculator — Credit-Hour Weighted
Add semesters, enter credits and grades — NEB letters, international 4.0 letters or direct points — and read SGPA per semester, your credit-weighted CGPA, the percentage equivalent and the average you need in the remaining credits to hit a target CGPA.
Quick answer
Compute per-semester SGPA and credit-hour weighted CGPA with percentage equivalent, indicative bands and a target-CGPA planner — NEB and 4.0 scales, 100% offline.
CGPA is the single number scholarship committees, graduate admissions and many Nepali government forms ask for first — and it is the number most students compute wrongly by averaging their semester SGPAs directly. Job Finder’s CGPA & Semester GPA Calculator does the bookkeeping properly: every course contributes grade points (credits × grade point), every semester’s SGPA falls out automatically, and the cumulative CGPA is weighted by credit hours so a heavy 4-credit semester moves the needle the way your transcript says it should.
The calculator supports the NEB / Nepal university letter table (A+ = 4.0 down to NG = 0.0), the common international plus/minus 4.0 scale, and a direct grade-points mode for universities that publish their own per-course values. Beyond the score you get the linear percentage equivalent (CGPA × 25 — the method most application forms expect), an indicative standing band, a per-semester bar chart, and a target-CGPA planner that solves for the average you need across your remaining credits. Add the transcript-style printout and the copy-ready summary, and you have everything required for scholarship and application forms — computed entirely inside your browser, with nothing saved or uploaded.

How SGPA, CGPA, the percentage equivalent and the target planner are computed. Tap any question to expand.
How is CGPA different from SGPA — and how is it computed here?
SGPA is one semester’s grade point average; CGPA is the credit-hour weighted average across every semester. For each course grade points = credits × grade point, then SGPA = Σ grade points ÷ Σ credits for that semester and CGPA = Σ all grade points ÷ Σ all credits. A 4-credit course moves your CGPA twice as much as a 2-credit one — which is why averaging SGPAs directly gives the wrong number whenever credit loads differ.
Which grading scales does the calculator support?
Three modes. NEB / Nepal university letters uses the national table (A+ = 4.0, A = 3.6, B+ = 3.2, B = 2.8, C+ = 2.4, C = 2.0, D = 1.6, NG = 0.0). International 4.0 letters uses the common plus/minus scale (A = 4.0, A− = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, … F = 0.0). Direct grade points accepts any 0 – 4 value for universities that publish their own per-course points. Always confirm against your institution’s own certificate.
How is the percentage equivalent calculated?
The summary shows the linear equivalence, CGPA × 25 — the same primary method as the site’s GPA ↔ Percentage Converter, and the one most Nepali application forms expect when they ask to state the percentage equivalent of your GPA. Because × 25 and ÷ 4 × 100 are algebraically identical, forms demanding the direct ratio get the same number; only the NEB grade-band midpoint method can differ, and that lives in the dedicated converter.
How does the target CGPA planner work?
Enter the CGPA you want and the credits you still have to take; the planner solves needed = (target × total credits after − current grade points) ÷ remaining credits. If the required average is above 4.0 the target is mathematically out of reach and the planner says so; if it is 0 or below, you have already secured it — the number tells you the slack you can afford.
Why use CGPA & Semester GPA Calculator on Job Finder?
Credit-hour correct, always
CGPA is weighted by credit hours exactly as transcripts are — no wrong averages from mixing 2- and 4-credit semesters, and per-course grade points are visible on every row.
Three scales, one workflow
NEB letters, international plus/minus 4.0 and direct grade points switch in place — grades keep their closest equivalent when you change scale, so re-entry is never needed.
Target planner + transcript print
Set a target CGPA and remaining credits to get the exact average you need, then print a clean transcript-style summary or copy it straight into application forms.
