Job Finder built Nepali Number Helper (Digits & Words) as part of a complete, privacy-first application toolkit for job seekers in Nepal and beyond. Convert English digits to Nepali Devanagari digits and back, format in lakh/crore or international grouping, and spell amounts in words with paise, computed locally. The tool runs entirely on your device: your files and inputs are processed inside the browser tab and never uploaded, so it also works offline once the page has loaded. Below you will find the frequently asked questions, step-by-step usage notes and the related guides that walk through the specifications this tool implements.
Nepali Number Helper — Frequently Asked Questions
Devanagari digits, the 3-2-2 grouping rule and cheque wording, answered briefly. Tap any question to expand the full answer.
How do I write a number in Nepali (Devanagari) digits?
Type the number with normal English digits and the helper instantly renders the same figure in Devanagari digits (० १ २ ३ ४ ५ ६ ७ ८ ९), grouped the Nepali way. Press the copy button next to the result and paste it wherever Devanagari numerals are expected.
What is lakh/crore grouping and how is it different?
Nepal and South Asia group digits from the right in a 3-2-2 pattern: the last three digits form the first group and every group after that holds two digits — so 12345678 reads 1,23,45,678 (one crore twenty-three lakh forty-five thousand six hundred seventy-eight). International grouping instead makes groups of three: 12,345,678. The helper shows both at once so you never mix them up.
How do I write an amount in words on a cheque or voucher?
Enter the amount with up to two decimal places and the helper spells it in the Indian/ Nepali words system — including paise — and prints a cheque-ready line such as “Rs. 1,23,456.50 (One Lakh Twenty-Three Thousand Four Hundred Fifty-Six Rupees and Fifty Paise Only)”. Copy it straight onto the amount-in-words line.
Does the helper work offline and is my data stored?
It is 100% offline — every conversion runs in your browser the moment you type, and nothing is uploaded or saved anywhere. Close the tab and the numbers are gone. It also keeps working when the site is loaded in offline mode, which is handy at bank counters with weak signal.
